Young man dies in road accident in Bhaktapur’s Srijana Nagar

BHAKTAPUR, April 30: A young man has died in an accident in Srijananagar, Suryabinayak Municipality-5 of Bhaktapur along the Araniko Highway.

BHAKTAPUR, April 30: A young man has died in an accident in Srijananagar, Suryabinayak Municipality-5 of Bhaktapur along the Araniko Highway. Sujan Tamang, 23, originally from Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4, Ramechhap and currently residing near Maitighar in Kathmandu, was riding a scooter which allegedly collided with a car, resulting in the accident. 


The collision occurred when the car traveling from Jagati to Kathmandu collided with Tamang’s scooter which was also heading in the same direction.


Both the pillion rider and the scooter driver were seriously injured in the accident. District Police Range Bhaktapur said that Tamang succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the nearby Madhyapur Thimi Hospital.

The pillion rider, 23-year-old, Raj Tamang, is currently undergoing treatment at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital. Rajan Karki, information officer of the District Police Range Bhaktapur, said that a police team including an investigation officer has been dispatched to the accident site for further investigation.


Meanwhile, the car driver, one Ashish Shrestha, 31, a resident of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan Ward-13 and currently residing in Kathmandu, has been detained by the Jagati Police Circle for investigation.


Police stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
