Famous US actress Zendaya is amongst the celebrities to react to the US Supreme Court ending the constitutional right to abortion.


The decision overturned the Roe v Wade decision made in 1992 that effectively legalised abortion across the US.


The ruling that was announced today means that individual states now have the power to set their own laws when it comes to abortion.

There was a huge protest outside the court today after the ruling was announced.


Zendaya joined a host of celebrities including Michelle Obama, Kendall Jenner, Viola Davis, Olivia Wilde and Hilary Clinton in damning the new ruling.

Whilst she was perhaps not quite as vocal as her aforementioned peers, Zendaya, who starred in musical drama film The Greatest Showman, reposted an article from Vanity Fair to her Instagram Stories which read that a ‘sledgehammer was taken to reproductive healthcare’ in America.


The official text read: "The Supreme Court Officially Strikes Down Roe v. Wade.


"The court's conservative majority took a sledgehammer to reproductive healthcare in America, formally voting down federal abortion protections."
