Minister Khatiwada made such remark addressing the 83rd-anniversary function of Nepal Bank Limited on Saturday in Kathmandu, where he was invited as the chief guest. On the occasion, he digitally inaugurated 18 different branches and two extension counters of the bank.
The minister appreciated the improvement of the bank and its profit position in recent days. The bank was making losses few years ago, and then slowly it started recuperating. “It is a good thing to know that the bank is doing well in recent years,” he said.
He added that only improving the internal management of a commercial bank would not be sufficient; it had to be supported by proper rules and regulations implemented by the government.
On the occasion, representatives of different unions spoke about various improvements needed in the banking sector.
“Inclusion of the younger generation has been one of the important changes in Nepal Bank Limited these days. Young generations’ involvement in the banking sector will ensure its bright future,” said Khatiwada.
