1 killed, 9 injured in Gurjudhara pile-up (with photos)

KATHMANDU, March 17: A man was killed and nine others were injured in a pile up at Gurjudhara in the capital on Friday.

KATHMANDU, March 17: A man was killed and nine others were injured in a pile up at Gurjudhara in the capital on Friday.


The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old taxi driver Kanchha Lama of Panauti, Kavre. Lama breathed his last while being rushed to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgun, Assistant Sub Inspector Satya Devi Regmi of Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot, told Republica Online.

The other injured are undergoing treatment at various clinics and hospitals. 


The accident took place when a tipper, Na 3 Kha 9773, heading to Kalanki from Thankot rammed a taxi, Ba 1 Ja 7967, and two other motor cycles coming from the opposite direction at 11 am today.


The tipper driver has also sustained injuries.


The reason behind the accident is yet to be confirmed.  Police said they are investigating the case.
