KATHMANDU, July 18: A 10 year child was raped by a man four times her age in Gurvakot municipality of Surkhet. According to police, 52 year old Lok Bahadur BK, who had come to his daughter-in-law’s house at around 11 PM, had raped the child.
According to Area Police Office, Chinchu’s chief, Madhusudhan Neupane, the incident came into light only after the child became unable to move and she talked about the incident.

The child is undergoing treatment at a local hospital while police have nabbed BK.
Over the past few years, number of rapes has escalated at Surkhet. According to District Police Office, last year, 30 rapes were reported.
Likewise, a person has been arrested for raping a disabled child. The girl was pounced as a prey because she was deaf, dumb and had limited mobility. Tej Bahadur Bhattarai, 36 from Rupakot Majhuwagadi municipality-1 of Diktel has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the rape.
Bhattarai has been kept in custody at District Police Office, Khotang, according to Lok Darshan Thapa. The incident came into light after a 10 year child witnessed it. “We came to know about it after the child reported it,” Thapa said. “We’ll know if it was consensual or by force after investigation only.”
