ROLPA, Mar 15: The District Police Office, Rolpa has taken a 13-year-old boy under control on the charge of raping a six-year-old girl. The boy allegedly raped the girl Monday evening as she was out of her home for playing, police said.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Prasad Phuyal, the girl's family accused the boy of raping her taking the advantage of dusk time. The family knew about the violence after the girl failing to bear the pains of sexual harassment reported it to her grandma.
Teenager held for raping minor girl
She is an LKG student at a local school while the accused is a Grade 4 one at the same school. The accused is under the police custody for further investigations into the case, District Court Rolpa's registrar Man Bahadur Bista said.
The court has extended his custody by more 10 days Wednesday for further investigations into the case. The laws in Nepal regard the people below 16 as juveniles.
In this case, if the child is proved guilty, he can be jailed for up to six months. But the law here does not allow the jail to the convict under the juvenile delinquency. Instead, he/she should be kept in a reform facility.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy of Sunchhahari Rural Municipality who was arrested on the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl was remanded to police custody as per the court's order for further investigation.
Similarly, four youths (from 18-24 years old) accused of gang raping a 28-year-old woman of Runtigadhi Rural Municipality were sent to police custody Wednesday for further action. One accused is on the run. RSS
