120-year old Batuli Lamichhane passes away

TRISHULI, Feb 4: Batuli Lamichhane, 120-year-old, a resident of Kakani Rural Municipality-8, passed away on Friday.

TRISHULI, Feb 4: Batuli Lamichhane, 120-year-old, a resident of Kakani Rural Municipality-8, passed away on Friday.


Her relative Uddhav Humagai said that she died at home on Friday due to respiratory problems.

Lamichhane had been experiencing breathing difficulties for the past one week. In response, the Kakani Rural Municipality and the Bala Foundation, both of which were involved in her care and support, arranged for a doctor to treat her at her home.


According to Batuli Lamichhane's wishes, the last rites were also performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Friday night. Her 82-year-old son Netra Prasad Lamichhane performed her last rites.


According to her citizenship certificate, Batuli Lamichhane was born on March 23, 1903. Bala Foundation had been taking initiatives to get her recognized as the world's oldest living person.
