LONDON, May 31: As many as 128 Nepali nationals have died of the coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) worldwide as of Saturday evening. This data includes seven death cases in Nepal and 121 others in foreign countries.
According to the Non Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA), seven more Nepalis lost their lives in the last one week which include two in Bahrain and one each in the UAE, the UK, the USA, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The highest number of cases of fatality have been reported in the UK where 66 Nepalis have died so far due to this viral infection, according to Dr Sanjeev Sapkota, coordinator of the NRNA’s Health Committee. Similarly, 19 other Nepalis succumbed to this fatal disease in the UAE.
Other cases of fatality due to this global pandemic include 17 in the USA, eight in Saudai Arabia, three in Bahrain, three in Kuwait and one each in Ireland, Japan, Turkey, the Netherlands and Sweden.
According to the committee, the COVID-19 infection among the Nepalis has been reported in 34 countries including Qatar, the USA, the UAE, Saudai Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, Turkey, Denmark, Portugal, Canada, Ireland, the Maldives, Spain, Australia, Japan, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Cyprus, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Malta, Poland, Russia, France, Myanmar, Romania, Sweden and the Netherlands. Denmark and Turkey reported new cases of COVID-19 infection among the Nepalis in the last week.
Of the 15,826 total Nepalis infected throughout the world, as many as 4,500 have already recovered from this disease, according to the committee.
