14 Indians, 3 Nepalis held with illegal chickens

RAUTAHAT, Oct 7: Police have arrested 14 Indian and three Nepali nationals with the illegal chickens on Friday morning.


A special squad of Mid Regional Police Office, Hetauda took hold of four cartoons of chickens at Karkach Karmaiya-8 in Rautahat district.


The team also seized 14 cycles and two motorcycles from the spot.

The arrested are Bishwanath Prasad Yadav, Bijaya Prasad Yadav, Surendra Sah,  Bhunesh Yadav, Ramadhar Raya, Umesh Raya, Muna Kumar Yadav, Nanath Raya, Sanjaya Kumar Yadav, Laukush Yadav, Yogendra Sah, Shankar Baitha, Pundeb Raya, Binod Prasad Yadav of Motihari, India.


Similarly,   Saheb Raya, Dharahari Yadav, Rajesh Kumar Sah and Motim Hasim Ansari of  Kopawa Pipariya of Rautahat  are among those arrested.


Those fowls taken under control have been culled, DIG Pashupati Upadhyaya at Mid Regional Police Office, Hetauda told Republica Online.


Upadhyaya informed that the Mid Regional Police Office has deployed mobile teams to control the smuggling activities, after being tipped off that they are on the increase of late.


The police are investigating the case after taking the smugglers into custody.
