2 killed, 1 injured in truck plunge

CHITWAN, Aug 11: A truck bearing Indian registration number plate fell down from the Jugedi Bridge at Bharatpur metropolitan city-29 early this morning, killing two people and leaving another person critically injured.

CHITWAN, Aug 11: A truck bearing Indian registration number plate fell down from the Jugedi Bridge at Bharatpur metropolitan city-29 early this morning, killing two people and leaving another person critically injured. 


The accident took place at 4.40 am on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section. The truck with registration number MH 42 T 0343) and carrying foodstuff was heading toward Kathmandu from India at the time of the accident. Police said it fell 50 metres into a ravine from the bridge at Jugedi.

Those killed in the accident have been identified as trick driver 25-year-old Juber Mohamad of Balrampur, India and another man whose name and address is not known, the District Police Office stated. The driver died at 5.20 am while being treated at College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital while the unidentified man died on the spot. 


Forty-year-old Firoz Alam of Balrampur, India who was critically injured in the mishap is receiving treatment at College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur.
