20 inmates in Kalikot jail cast their votes

KALIKOT, Nov 20: A total of 20 prisoners in Kalikot prison have voted from the temporary polling station set up at Kalikot Jail. 


Polling officer Shyam Bahadur Shahi said that 20 prisoners have already voted even as there were names of 22 prisoners in the voters’ list.

The voting started at 7 AM. All 20 prisoners had cast their votes before 8 AM. The names of a total 424 people including 22 prisoners and 402 employees are maintained in the voters’ list in that polling station. 


The Election Commission (EC) had for the first time arranged a temporary polling station for prisoners whose names are included in the voter's list to cast their votes from their respective prisons.
