CHITWAN, July 1: Chitwan district has reported 25 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Wednesday. The newly diagnosed COVID-19 patients include 19 males and six other females, according to Bharatpur Hospital.
The tests conducted at the Bharatpur-based COVID-19 Laboratory confirmed that swabs of 25 out of 100 persons collected earlier were tested positive for the COVID-19.
Counties without coronavirus are mostly rural, poor
Of the 25 newly infected, ten are from Gaindakot Municipality and six others are from Bharatpur Metropolitan City. Similarly, six patients currently undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur Hospital, two others at Narayani Community Hospital and one at the Central Hospital were diagnosed with this disease.
Chitwan district has so far reported 73 cases of COVID-19. Of them, 27 have already returned home after recovery, while the remaining others are receiving treatment at the isolation wards set up at Bharatpur Hospital.
Bharatpur Hospital has so far reported two COVID-19 deaths. A 68-year-old man from Bharatpur on June 9 and another 50-year-old man from Kailali on June 27 died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at the Hospital.
