3 injured as police, criminal group exchange fire

ITAHARI, Jan 30: Three people injured killed after police exchanged fire with a criminal group in Itahari Municipality of Sunsari district on Monday afternoon.

ITAHARI, Jan 30: Three people were injured after police exchanged fire with a criminal group in Itahari Municipality of Sunsari district on Monday afternoon.


According to police, three people involved in criminal activities sustained injuries in the police firing near the Sunsari-Morang irrigation project.

The injured are Satan Paswan, 27, of Nocha VDC-3 of Morang district, Shrawan Sardar,29 of Tankisinuwari and Shubhalal Sardar, 42 of  Itarahari-13, DSP Nareshraj Subedi of Area Police Office, Itahari told Republica Online. 


Police have recovered three guns along with various types of narcotic drugs from the incident site.


The injured are undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
