KATHMANDU, Aug 23: National Sports Council (NSC) has named 38 female players for the preliminary phase of selection for the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers 2016 from Asia.

The players were selected on the basis of their performance during the National Selection tournament held two weeks ago.

However, the final selection will be undertaken by a selection committee comprising of ICC representative Venkatapathy Raju, national captain and national coach.

The women's national coach is yet to be determined.

“NSC itself is in confusion regarding the final selection though it has sent the list of preliminary list to the ICC,” said a member of the selection tournament organizing committee.

“The training camp is also in limbo due to lack of communication between the ICC and the NSC,” he said.
