KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Over 385 houses have been inundated in Kathmandu floods caused by incessant rainfall on Sunday night.
Superintendent of Police Sushil Singh Rathour, Information Officer at the Metropolitan Police Office, said that settlements located on the bank of rivers have been badly affected by the floods. “Rescue operation is currently underway in Mulpani, Balkhu and Manohara, among other areas,” he said, “About 15 laborers were rescued from Sanepa, Lalitpur area.”

According to Police, 232 people were rescued as of Monday morning and no human casualty has been reported so far. “People living in Bhaktapur had evacuated on their own before the flood could reach their settlement,” Rathour added.
SP Rathour informed Republica that the situation now is under control although the police had received about 150 calls in the night for help.
