KATHMANDU, Aug 13: At least 45 secretaries, out of total 55 who had attended a meeting with the prime minister a few days ago, have submitted their ministry's action plan to the Office of Prime Minister and Council Ministers (OPMCM).
During the meeting held on Sunday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had instructed the secretaries to present a clear plan of action to improve the delivery system of government bodies within three days.
Chandra Ghimire, secretary at the OPMCM, informed that about 10 secretaries failed to submit their action plans to the OPMCM.
Those failing to submit the action plan are from the judicial council, office of the president, office of the vice-president and some other departments.
According to Ghimire, the action plans presented by the secretaries are based on the government's annual policy and program introduced by the previous government for the current fiscal year 2016/17.
“The PM wasn't looking for an entirely new plan. Secretaries were asked to come up with plans based on the government's policy and programs of the current fiscal year,” he said.
He, however, didn't divulge any details of the plans submitted by the top officials.
“We have not opened those files yet,” he said.
He informed that the plans will be handed over to PM Dahal soon.
