52 passenger help desks established in Bagmati Province

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Bagmati Province Police Office has established 52 passenger help desks throughout the province for the convenience of travelers during the Dashain festival. The provincial police office has stated that passenger and citizen help desks have been established in accordance with the special security plan for the festival.

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Bagmati Province Police Office has established 52 passenger help desks throughout the province for the convenience of travelers during the Dashain festival. The provincial police office has stated that passenger and citizen help desks have been established in accordance with the special security plan for the festival.


Provincial Police Chief Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kiran Bajracharya stated that 52 passenger and citizen help desks have been put into operation in 10 districts of Bagmati Province at the same time in view of the crowding during the festival and the inconvenience caused to the common citizens.

According to him, help desks with traffic police have been established at bus parks and places where there is more traffic and congestion in the province. Eight help desks have been established in Makwanpur, four in Chitwan, six in Dhading, six each in Nuwakot and Rasuwa, nine in Kavre, five in Sindhupalchowk, one in Dolakha, two in Ramechhap and five in Sindhuli districts.


There will be 24-hour police presence at the passenger and citizen help desks with 156 policemen in one shift including traffic and female police personnel.


DIG Bajracharya said, "The police team of Bagmati Province is ready to prevent incidents such as theft, fraud, etc. that may happen during the festival. We expect the cooperation and coordination of the common people in this campaign.”


The police have requested the common people to take necessary precautions and contact the nearest police office in case of any untoward incident.
