KATHMANDU, Sept 5: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has taken the statements of Dipesh Pun, son of former Vice President Nanda Kishor Pun, and Rahul Mahara, son of Maoist Vice Chairman and former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
The CIB has taken statements from Dipesh Pun and Rahul Mahara as part of the ongoing investigation into the 60 kg gold case.

The CIB said that the statement was taken after Pun was found to be in contact with others involved in gold smuggling.
Similarly, the police have already arrested Rahul Mahara in the 60 kg gold case. The CIB also took the statement of the arrested Mahara.
On July 19, the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) seized the 60 kg gold that was brought from Hong Kong concealed in brake shoes of scooters after the smuggled gold had passed through the Tribhuvan International Airport customs.
The DRI initially investigated the case, but later the CIB was asked to continue the investigation. After taking over the investigation, the CIB has accelerated the inquiry and investigation.
