65-year-old COVID-19 patient from Baglung discharged

BAGLUNG, April 18: A 65-year-old woman from Baglung who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 discharged from the hospital following recovery on Saturday evening.

BAGLUNG, April 18: A 65-year-old woman from Baglung who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 discharged from the hospital following recovery on Saturday evening. 


She was taken to her home based in Gaudakot by ambulance. The woman underwent treatment for the past three weeks at Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung. All the four medical reports of the sexagenarian turned out negative, according to Namaraj Sharma, an official at the Gandaki Province Health Directorate.


"Her fourth medical report also came out negative," Suraj Gurau, District Health Office chief, told Republica.

The woman returned to Nepal via Qatar from Belgium on March 17 on a Qatar Airways flight. She is the third COVID-19 patient in Nepal discharged after full recovery.


Earlier today, 19-year-old Prasidhhi Shrestha returned home after full recovery Shrestha was admitted to Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku on March 23 after her sample tested positive for the deadly virus.


She came to Nepal from France via Qatar on March 17. After coming back home, she had placed herself under home quarantine. The teenage girl was hospitalized for 27 days.


Meanwhile, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli congratulated Shrestha and entire team involved in her treatment. On Twitter, Oli expressed happiness for her discharge after recovery. 


Meanwhile, the fourth test report of a 19-year-old girl from Baglung also came out positive. She is undergoing treatment at Dhaulagiri Provincial Hospital. The teenage girl also came to Nepal on March 17 on the same flight via Qatar.


As of Friday, Nepal has 30 coronavirus cases with 28 active cases. Another COVID-19 patient had recovered from COVID-19 and returned home in January.
