KATHMANDU, March 9: 800 out of 881 votes have been cast in the presidential election being held in New Baneshwar.


According to the Election Commission, 800 votes were cast till 2:50 in the afternoon.

Out of total 881 votes, voting will end after 37 votes are casted. Out of a total of 881 votes in the House of Representatives and 331 votes in the National Assembly, 300 votes fell in favor of the federal parliament. There are 334 total members in the Federal Parliament, including 59 members of the National Assembly and 275 members of the House of Representatives. Among them, one is suspended, one has passed away, and one has been relieved of his post.


Among them, Nepali Congress MP Chandra Bhandari is undergoing treatment in India, while 14 MPs of RPP have already decided not to vote. Therefore, now the number of MPs left to vote from the Federal Parliament is only 16.


Similarly, 500 out of 550 voters have already voted for the province. Since 28 provincial assembly members of RPP did not vote, now there are only 22 people left to vote. The Election Commission has fixed the time for voting till 3 pm.
