Unidentified gang loots Rs 13.4 million from Nabil Bank’s branch in Birgunj

KATHMANDU, April 30: A group of people broke into Nabil Bank’s branch in Birgunj, Parsa in the wee hours of Monday and took away Rs 13.4 million. According to the police, the security guard was not on duty during the time of robbery. The absence of any security guard during the time of robbery has raised suspicions of foul play.

KATHMANDU, April 30: A group of people broke into Nabil Bank’s branch in Birgunj, Parsa in the wee hours of Monday and took away Rs 13.4 million. According to the police, the security guard was not on duty during the time of robbery. The absence of any security guard during the time of robbery has raised suspicions of foul play. 


Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumud Dhungel of the District Police Office Parsa confirmed that the CCTV footage review showed the money was stolen from the bank by an unidentified gang of looters.

The perpetrators are believed to have broken into the bank and escaped with the stolen money by securing the bank’s vault with a new lock. The group of 5-6 individuals is absconding. Investigations are underway, said SP Dhungel. According to him, the police have intensified the manhunt for the burglars.
