KATHMANDU, Nov 1: A leader of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has been arrested from Lalitpur on the charge of possessing a weapon and issuing threats to a high-ranking police official.
A police team from the Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Range arrested 35-year-old Sabita Adhikari ‘Bidusi’, who is the secretary of the Lalitpur chapter of CPN, from the Patan area in Lalitpur.
Chand-led outfit’s Jajarkot in-charge arrested
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP Santosh Tamang, Bidhusi has been arrested on the charge of weapon possession, and for issuing threats to the chief of the Lalitpur Police, SSP Tek Prasad Rai. “She has been kept in custody for further investigation,” said Tamang, who is the spokesperson for the Range.
Issuing a statement, the leader of the Biplav-led outfit had given threats to SSP Rai. After police arrested a leader of the outfit on the charge of possessing explosive materials some months ago, she had issued the statement giving threats to SSP Rai.
