A man gets 52 years jail term for raping and killing minor

RAUTAHAT, May 20: The District Court of Rautahat has announced 52 years jail term to a man for raping and killing a minor.


A single bench Judge Prakash Shrestha issued the verdict against Bal Kishor Chaurasiya for abducting, raping and then murdering the minor.

Chaurasiya, 30, of Katahariya Municipality-1, Harshaha was given a 17-year jail term for abducting and detaining the girl along with Rs 200,000 fine. On the other hand, he was punished for 15 years behind the bars for raping and 20 years term for the murder.


On September 5, 2016, a six-year-old girl of Maryadapur of Maulapur Municipality was abducted from her home at night. Later she was raped and brutally murdered and thrown in Lalbakaiya River. Chuarasiya had broken both of her hands and thrown her in the river. 


Reportedly, this is the first time Rautahat’s District Court has given such a long punishment to any criminal. It has been proven that Chaurasiya is a serial killer and rapist. There are several other unsolved cases in court where he has been charged with raping minors.


Chaurasiya is also accused of raping and killing another six-year-old of Maryadapur.
