A man in Arghakhanchi dies in quarantine while undergoing treatment

ARGHAKANCHI, June 10: A 57-year-old man who had been staying in a quarantine facility at Malarani Rural Municipality in Arghakhanchi district, died on Wednesday.

ARGHAKANCHI, June 10: A 57-year-old man who had been staying in a quarantine facility at Malarani Rural Municipality in Arghakhanchi district, died on Wednesday.


According to Chief Health Officer Pushpa Thapa, the deceased had returned to his home district from Maharastra in India 12 days ago. He was then staying in the quarantine facility.

He was admitted to Sandhi Karkha-based District Hospital on Tuesday after he complained of breathing difficulties. He was then referred to Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal for further treatment.


He breathed his last at Kondre Khola as he was on his way home in Arghakhanchi district, said a local resident, Gokul Rijal. Although his throat swab sample was collected for COVID-19 tests on June 3, the result of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test is still awaited.
