KANCHANPUR, Sept 9: A 16-year-old girl has filed a complaint at the Area Police station, Beldandi, Kanchanpur  alleging that she was gang-raped by four youths from the same village. The girl, who filed the complaint, mentioned that she was held captive for five consecutive days and was gang raped several times.

The girl, who had been living in her maternal uncle's house in Beldadi Rural Municipality-5 in the district, had been missing since August 30. Her maternal uncle filed a complaint at the area police office about her sudden disappearance on the following day.

After several days of their search, police were able to find her near the same area last Friday. She was later  handed over to her uncle.

After a few days, the girl filed a complaint against four youths from the area claiming that they raped her multiple times by holding her hostage.

Police officials said the girl in her complaint has stated that she was raped after being drugged heavily. "I was drugged and raped by four people multiple times," a police source quoted the complaint as stating in her complaint.

The source also stated that the teenager was forced not to report about the incident on the first day after she was found. "We have taken this seriously and we have already taken action against the accused police officer," informed the source.

However, the four accused persons from the village are still at large. "The four accused have fled away from the village. We have coordinated with police offices in other areas to arrest them," the source further said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Amar Bahadur Thapa, who is also the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said further investigation into the incident is currently underway. "We are still investigating the incident and we have left no stones unturned to nab the accused persons," he said.
