Two teenage girls drown, one missing

MAHENDRANAGAR (KANCHANPUR), July 8: Two teenage girls have died after being swept away by flood in Kanchanpur on Monday while another girl is missing. Superintendent of Police Chakraraj Joshi of District Police Office confirmed that 15-year-old Srijana Bogati and 15-year-old Lakshmi Bogati of Ratokhali, Punarwas Municipality-5 drowned near their home on Monday afternoon

MAHENDRANAGAR (KANCHANPUR), July 8: Two teenage girls have died after being swept away by flood in Kanchanpur on Monday while another girl is missing. Superintendent of Police Chakraraj Joshi of District Police Office confirmed that 15-year-old Srijana Bogati and 15-year-old Lakshmi Bogati of Ratokhali, Punarwas Municipality-5 drowned near their home on Monday afternoon. Srijana and Lakshmi's bodies have been found, while Aarati Bogati's condition is unknown.


Twelve-year-old Anjali Bogati, who was with them, managed to survive.   Meanwhile, the police are looking for Aarati. According to the police, the four were traveling together to another village when flooded water swept them away from the road.

Most of the places in Kanchanpur have been inundated due to continuous rainfall since the last two days. Most of the roads are also inundated, making it difficult to venture outside.


Earlier on Sunday, seven-month-old Sonu Dhanuk of Krishnapur municipality-1 Pahariya drowned when flood water entered her house, while 23-year-old Dambar Chaudhary of Beldandi rural municipality-3 went missing after being swept away by the flooded Chaudhar river.
