KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Aarif Rauf is the latest featured artist in ‘Covered’, episode four. The series is presented by Radio Nagarik 96.5. Rauf was seen in the video performing the song ‘Ma Sansar Jitne’ with a raspy voice.
Sabin Rai originally sang the song. Singer Rai congratulated him via text and shared the covered video too.
Aarif has received plenty of offers for playback singing in Nepali movies after his tie-up with Radio Nagarik. People have begun noticing him as a singer and viewers also responded to him warmly in the comments section of his video.

“The entire team was friendly and supportive. You didn’t feel that you were collaborating with these guys for the first time. Also, I learned the basic ideas of recording and video making. So, my overall experience with Radio Nagarik was incredible,” he praises. Rauf further adds, “The most important thing about ‘Covered’ is creating the platform and opening a door for a better future in the music realm.
Besides his music career, he is a part-time lecturer and full-time employee. He teaches students of Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) at KFA Business School three days a week in the mornings and works at his dad’s hardware business throughout the day. However, he still manages time for music. “If you’re really passionate about something, you automatically get some time for it,” he shares.

To provide platform to aspiring musicians, Radio Nagarik 96.5 is on a quest to finding singers with a knack for performing covered version songs. The radio station provides the requisites for producing the audio and video of a cover song. The selected artists are also featured on ‘Covered’.
