Actor Paul Shah sentenced to two and a half years in prison for ‘sexual misconduct with a minor’

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: The Nawalpur District Court on Tuesday sentenced actor Paul Shah (Purna Bikram Shah) to two and a half years in prison after finding him guilty of ‘sexual misconduct with a minor’.

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: The Nawalpur District Court on Tuesday sentenced actor Paul Shah (Purna Bikram Shah) to two and a half years in prison after finding him guilty of ‘sexual misconduct with a minor’. Though the court did not find actor Shah guilty of rape, he was sentenced for sexual misconduct with a minor.

The single bench of Judge Yatra Prasad Acharya also ordered actor Shah to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 and a compensation of Rs 1 million to the victim.


Shah has been in police custody, facing the trial at two separate district courts, ever since an underage female singer filed a case of rape against him in Nawalpur and Tanahun at the same time.
