KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Agitating doctors, health officials, and staffers at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu have obstructed senior officials at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) from entering the hospital.
As the agitating groups have failed to reach an agreement with the hospital administration, they have hung a black banner in the hospital obstructing the entry of senior officials of NAMS and Bir Hospital.
A total of eight trade unions of doctors, health officials and staffers have been protesting for the last one month demanding the government provide risk allowance for those working during the pandemic.

The agitating groups have been protesting on the hospital premises every day from 10AM to 11AM for the last one month.
The agitating groups have also formed a joint struggle committee following a failed meeting with the hospital management. The committee is led by Dr Rishi Kanta Aryal.
The struggle committee is preparing to submit a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.
