Alliance formed to protect the constitution: General Secretary Gurung

KATHMANDU, Oct 22: General Secretary of CPN (Maoist Center) Dev Prasad Gurung has said that the alliance has been formed for the defense of the constitution and economic development of the country.

KATHMANDU, Oct 22: General Secretary of CPN (Maoist Center) Dev Prasad Gurung has said that the alliance has been formed for the defense of the constitution and economic development of the country.


In the 'candidate introduction and exchange of greetings' program organized by Nepali Congress Lamjung-Kathmandu Liaison Committee, Integrated Socialist Close Coordinating Committee and Maoist Central Close Liaison Forum, which are affiliated to the alliance, he said that the alliance is to protect nationalism and democracy.

"For the protection of nationality, democracy and the constitution, it is necessary to vote for the party affiliated to the alliance in the upcoming election", he said. General Secretary Gurung, who has been nominated as the candidate for the House of Representatives from Lamjung in the upcoming election to be held on November 20, mentioned that the alliance is in the campaign of good governance by ending corruption and the commission system.


Similarly, he said that Lamjung can be developed through agriculture, tourism and hydropower and pointed out the need for infrastructure construction for this. He said that Lamjung will develop if domestic industries and agriculture can be mechanized and commercialized. He added that Lamjung can be developed as a north-south trading post if corridors can be constructed in Marsyangdi, Chepe, Dordi, Midim, Rudi and Madi rivers.
