NEPALGUNJ, March 13: Spokesperson for the government and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that the current ruling alliance will be maintained till the election of all three levels.
In a press conference held by Nepal Press Union Banke in Nepalgunj on Sunday, he said that the alliance was formed with a special purpose in special circumstances and this alliance protected the constitution. “This coalition has guaranteed the rule of law and the government has a responsibility to provide good governance to the people,” he said.
No matter what anyone says, the alliance will not break: Dahal
Explaining that the alliance was not against anyone, he said, "The Prime Minister has stated this many times. This alliance is for the unity and stability of the country, not against anyone."
Stating that the government's focus is on holding elections at all three levels, Karki said that the elections at all three levels should be held in a peaceful and fair manner by uniting society."
Further stating that various misconceptions have been spread about the MCC agreement, he clarified that MCC is not above the constitution and law of Nepal. "Look at the MCC agreement. If there is a conflict between the MCC and Nepal's law, it is clearly written that in such a situation the constitution of Nepal will always prevail," Karki said.
He said that the global economy was weakened due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Nepal could not remain untouched. "COVID-19 has also had a huge impact on the weak economy. Our economy is not in a situation as that of Sri Lanka or Pakistan," he said. "The government is focused on strengthening the economy.”
