MCC agreement will be ratified through parliament only after forging a national consensus: Minister Poudel

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Devendra Poudel has claimed that the coalition government will be maintained until the end of all three-tier elections. He claimed that the ruling alliance has prepared an action plan and will move ahead accordingly.

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Devendra Poudel has claimed that the coalition government will be maintained until the end of all three-tier elections. He claimed that the ruling alliance has prepared an action plan and will move ahead accordingly. 


Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Saturday, Minister Poudel shared that the government will schedule the dates for the federal and provincial elections as soon as the local level election concludes.

Minister Poudel also said that the CPN (Maoist Center) and other senior leaders of the alliance are in favor of maintaining the coalition and moving ahead in the elections. 


He added that the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement will be ratified in parliament only after there is a consensus among all political parties in the country. 


Poudel said that the ruling alliance has formed a working group to discuss the MCC and that discussions are being held with the main opposition party CPN-UML as well.
