KATHMANDU, Sept 15: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Friday announced a three-year marketing and promotion rights deal with RamSar (Ram Saraswoti) Media Private Limited, scrapping the previous deal with AP1 television.

The ANFA canceled the deal made with AP1 television citing that the deal made for the marketing and promotion rights was by the previous working committee.  RamSar will now promote the Martyr’s Memorial A-Division League through hoarding boards, television channels, FM stations, colleges, local vehicles, magazines, social media, press meet backdrops, and other appropriate forums, according to the association’s official site.

ANFA President Karma Tshering Sherpa and the media’s Managing Director Raj Humagain signed an agreement to this effect in Kathmandu on Friday.

As per the agreement, the ANFA will receive Rs 10 million this year, Rs 15 million next year, and Rs 20 million the year after.

Earlier, the ANFA and AP1 television had signed a sponsorship agreement worth Rs 50 million for a three-year period in June last year.  As per the agreement, AP1 had to give live broadcast of all the tournaments organized by ANFA including marketing and promotion rights. As per the terms of the agreement, AP1 TV had to pay ANFA Rs 17.5 million as compensation.

“We have entered into an agreement with RamSar for three years for the promotion and marketing rights. We are excited and hope that football in Nepal will scale greater heights with effective marketing and promotions,” President Sherpa said.

The tournament, after a halt of five long years, will kick-off from September 29 with a system of no-relegation, for the first time in the history of the country’s football.
