RAUTAHAT, April 18: Armed Police Force (APF) Inspector Angad Khadka has been arrested on the charge of motorcycle theft in Sarlahi.
The APF Inspector Khadka working at Khutauna base located in Ward No 6 of Malangwa Municipality was arrested with a stolen motorcycle and handed over to District Police Office, Sarlahi by the locals.
On February 24, an Apache motorcycle (Province-2-02-003 Pa 7729) was stolen from the Nutan Oil Store located at Shiva Sagar Chowk in Malangawa– the district headquarter of Sarlahi. After Khadka along with another policeman named Robin came to buy petrol at the Nutan Oil Store, the bike owner recognized his motorcycle and questioned Inspector Khadka about the motorcycle.

The motorcycle owner is Rakesh Raut Patel of Malangwa Municipality 9. Patel is an employee of Nutan Oil Store. A day after the theft of motorcycle, a complaint was also filed with the District Police Sarlahi,
Khadka is found riding the stolen motorcycle from the busy market of Sarlahi with the government number plate Province-2 Ba 9726 instead of giving it to the owner.
After the engine and Chechis number as well as vehicle's documents were matched, Patel asked Khadka why he had put government number plates on his stolen vehicle. However, instead of answering the question, Khadka tried to run away leaving behind the motorcycle. The locals took control of Khadka from the Nutan Oil store and informed the police.
According to the victim, a game has been played internally to release Khadka, who was arrested last Sunday and attempts are being made to settle the incident secretly.
It is understood from police sources that Khadka, who was arrested on the charge of motorcycle theft, has been kept at the District Police Office, Sarlahi. The incident is being investigated.
On the other hand, DIG Dipendra Shah, head of the Madhesh-Province Chinnamasta unit, said that he had come to know about the incident. He said he has already instructed to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
