KATHMANDU, Nov 28: Gyanendra Shahi, a leader and member of parliament from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has challenged Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa to arrest and investigate former King Gyanendra Shah and jail him if they can prove him guilty of idol theft and involvement in the royal massacre.
“My suggestion to the NC General Secretary and the main character behind the ratification of the MCC agreement… Those who accuse King Gyanendra of stealing idols and being involved in the royal palace massacre are free to substantiate these accusations and jail him. Who is stopping you from doing that?” Shahi asked on social media on Tuesday.

In a Facebook status, Shahi stated, "The government is yours, the system is yours, the police is yours, the army is yours, the court is yours, the investigation is yours, the President is yours," challenging Thapa to arrest and investigate former King Gyanendra, if they can. Shahi further pointed out that the Nepali Congress was leading the government and NC’s Ram Chandra Paudel was the home minister and Girija Prasad Koirala was the Prime Minister when the royal palace massacre took place.
He concluded by stating that if no one can investigate, it is not right to blabber becoming a servant to the United States and the European Union, alleging that they influenced the acceptance of the 12-point Delhi Agreement.
