KATHMANDU, March 19: Attorney General Agni Prasad Kharel resigned from the post on Friday.


He tendered his resignation to President Bidya Devi Bhandari earlier today.

Kharel announced his resignation amid a press conference held at his office this afternoon.


Kharel, who is also a senior advocate, was appointed the attorney general in February 2018.


Kharel, who is a CPN-UML leader, served as the Law Minister from 2007 to 2013 in the CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli-led government.
