KATHMANDU, Sept 14: A courtesy meeting was held between the Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha, and Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Felicity Volk, on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two discussed matters of mutual relations and interests. Australian envoy Volk said that the government of Australia was working in Nepal in the areas of climate change, gender equality, upliftment of the backward classes as well as the development of the tourism sector.

She pledged to continue working in these areas in the coming days. Stating that Australia had been an educational destination for Nepali students, the Ambassador shared that the government of Australia was also working for the welfare and security of Nepali students.
In response, NPC Vice-Chairperson Dr Shrestha extended gratitude to the government of Australia for the collaboration and support in socio-economic development of Nepal and assured that there would be collaboration between the two countries in future also.
