Aviation Museum to be opened for students from Sunday (with photo/video)

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Aviation enthusiastic students now can get detailed information about Nepali aviation history through Aviation Museum. The aviation museum is ready to open for students from Sunday at Sinamangal.


The aviation museum has been set up in an abandoned Turkish Airlines airbus 330-300 that went off the runway,  had blocked the runway and the aviation activities in Kathmandu airport was halted for four days in March, 2015. The Bed Upreti Trust with the coordination of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has set-up the museum.

In a press meet held on Saturday, it was informed that the main goal of the museum is to get students interested in the aviation sector in Nepal and to encourage them to build up their career in this sector. However, the public will be allowed to visit the museum only after the official inauguration.  The visitors can see more than 350 miniature models of aircraft from Wright Brother’s first aircraft to fighter planes from World War I and II, glass cockpit of various commercial airlines and real life helicopter in the museum.


The trust has already set-up an aviation museum in Dhangadi as well in an abandoned Fokker 100. The trust has informed that the revenue from the project will go to assist cancer patients.
