Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘ Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ is all set to hit the screens tomorrow and the actor has indulged in a whole lot of promotions to spread a word about his same-sex romantic outing. The actor essays a homosexual character in ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ and speaking exclusively to ETimes, Ayushmann opened up about the apprehensions he had for portraying the character, “You know, I've made my entire career by taking risks. This is another kind of risk and I guess this is the day and age when you can take a lot of risks. You have to give something different to the audience. And for me, it's not just about entertainment, it's also about certain value creation, coupled with entertainment. That's what I try to do with every film of mine, and ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ is no different. I guess we are ready for a homosexual love story. Because it's 2020 we have become more progressive as a society. There's a lot of acceptance out there. And also there are a lot of homophobes. So this film is for them. The target audience is that section of society which is against LGBTQ.”

From premature balding to erectile dysfunction – Ayushmann has essayed polarized characters and with ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, he gets into a gay love story. Speaking about the challenges he faced with this film, Ayushmann added, “No challenges as such. Of course, the biggest challenge was to play a homosexual guy being a heterosexual guy. But again, as an actor, you should be prepared for anything. The biggest high for an actor is that it is going to be a case study in Indian cinema that this kind of a film where people will be going out with their families to watch a film which is based on homosexuality.”
Directed by Hitesh Kewalya, ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ also features Jitendra Kumar, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta in pivotal roles.
