KATHMANDU, August 19: A special meeting of the Bagmati Province cabinet on Wednesday formed a seven-member recommendation committee headed by the Chief Coordinator of the Provincial Transport Infrastructure Directorate to determine the fare of public transport operating in different districts in the province.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, Bagmati Province, Rameshwar Phuyal said that the secretary of the ministry has been directed to monitor and take immediate action as there were complaints of irregular collection of fares from vehicles operating in different districts in the Province.
Fare of public transport in Kathmandu Valley hiked
According to him, the Provincial Transport Infrastructure Directorate has been instructed to fix the prices of labor, motor parts and provide appropriate accident insurance and compensation to the workers while operating public transport.
