KATHMANDU, July 24: Bagmati Province has launched a dedicated information system to facilitate the payment of vehicles tax online.

According to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport of Bagmati Province, it has brought into operation the Transport Management Information System (TMIS) that is linked with the Nagarik App. With the system in place, the taxpayers can see the details of their tax dues and can register their vehicles and have annual renewal through the electronic platform.

The province through its annual policy and program had announced plans to digitize the entire records and official procedures of vehicles. For this purpose, the provincial government has also enforced Regulation on Service Flow and Revenue Settlement of Transport Sector 2021.

Currently, the service seekers have to stay in a long queue for a long time to pay their vehicle taxes and get the renewal. With the hassles, many of them have been paying additional charges to the middlemen to get their work done.

On the new platform, individuals now can access to the online system via http://tmis.bagamati.gov.np, according to the provincial ministry.
