BANKE, June 22: The District Police Office, Banke, seized goods worth over 13.1 million in mid-May. 


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Dangi, said that the police seized goods smuggled from India by evading customs.

The police seized goods amounting to Rs 258,000 including two quintals of broiler chicken and 1,800 chicks brought illegally to Nepal.


In May, police took action against 1,713 bus drivers. DSP Dangi said they collected revenue of about Rs 1.461 million, according to Dangi. Police also auctioned 121 motorcycles and scooters.


The police arrested four people on the charge of stealing motorcycles. Similarly, the police also took control of two people arrested on charges of stealing a scooter, said Dangi.
