TANAHU, Aug 30: Twenty-two people were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bhanu Municipality of Tanahu district on Sunday.
According to the Province Health Directorate, Gandaki, nine males from Ward 6 and 10 males and three females from Ward 7 of Bhanu Municipality tested positive for COVID-19 while conducting PCR tests at Tuberculosis Treatment Center in Pokhara.

Chief of the Health Division at Bhanu Municipality, Aishwarya Chandra Bhattarai, said that there has been COVID-19 transmission at the community level. "We collected swab samples of 75 people suspecting that there could be transmission at the community level. Now, it has been proved," he said.
Earlier last week, six persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Ward 9 of Bhanu Municipality. Bhanu Municipality went into lockdown two weeks ago to curb the spread of coronavirus.
