Bharatpur metropolis forms coronavirus prevention coordination committee

CHITWAN, March 13: Bharatpur Metropolitan City has formed coronavirus prevention and preparedness coordination committee under the leadership of the metropolis mayor Renu Dahal amid coronavirus fear.


An all-party meeting at the Metropolis today decided this effect.

The committee's other members are the metropolis deputy mayor, chief administrative officer, ward chairperson and member of the metropolis executive. The coordinator of the public health promotion section is the member secretary of the committee.


The meeting also urged the formation of a coronavirus preparedness coordination committee at all wards and the launch of awareness campaigns. Similarly, a virus prevention and preparedness taskforce comprising doctors would also be formed while the private and government hospitals have been asked to set up isolation wards, said health joint coordinator Surya Tiwari, who participated in the meeting.


The meeting was attended by health expert Dr. Bhojaraj Adhikari, director of B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital Dr. Bijaya Chandra Acharya, director of Chitwan Medical College Dr. Dayaram Lamsal and Narayan Singh Kunwar and Bikram Adhikari of the Private Hospital Coordination Committee among others.
