KATHMANDU, May 31: The government has formed a committee under the coordination of former secretary Sharada Prasad Trital to search for land and movable assets that are in the name of Tribhuvan University (TU) within Kathmandu Valley.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed that the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday appointed former Joint Secretaries Mahendra Kumar Thapa and Janaki Ballabh Adhikari, along with Tribhuvan University's expert member Prof. Dr. Prem Sagar Chapagain, as members of the committee.

An Under Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the committee.
The committee will conduct a study, investigation, and examination of the land owned by TU in various locations, focusing initially on the land within the valley. It will also gather information and conduct an inventory of buildings and other movable and immovable assets. The committee will then prepare a comprehensive report with concrete recommendations for the protection, utilization, management, and any other necessary actions.
