CHITWAN, June 22: Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan district has issued a 35-day notice to dismantle illegal structures that have encroached upon the banks of the Narayani River.
Through an official notice, the metropolis has directed the removal of hotels and other structures built within the river’s jurisdiction and public land within the stipulated 35-day period. The notice explicitly states that if the structures are not removed within this timeframe, the metropolis will take the necessary steps to demolish them.

The metropolis has specifically identified structures constructed along the 38-kilometer stretch of the river, spanning from Ward No. 1 to Ward No. 28.
The metropolis is currently developing infrastructure along the banks of the Narayani River and the area above the Narayani Bridge as per the sea beach model. However, commercial and social organizations have erected buildings on the riverside vicinity without proper authorization.
