Bharatpur: Renu Dahal takes a lead of over 3,000 votes

CHITWAN, May 20: CPN (Maoist Center) leader Renu Dahal who is a common candidate of the five-party ruling alliance has maintained her lead in the mayoral race of Bharatpur Metropolitan City against her closest rival, UML’s Bijay Subedi, as vote-counting continues.

CHITWAN, May 20: CPN (Maoist Center) leader Renu Dahal who is a common candidate of the five-party ruling alliance has maintained her lead in the mayoral race of Bharatpur Metropolitan City against her closest rival, UML’s Bijay Subedi, as vote-counting continues.


So far, Dahal has garnered 21,267 votes while her closest rival Subedi has got 18,075 votes.

Independent candidate Jagannath Poudel has received 7,983 votes.


Similarly, Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress is leading in the race for the post of deputy mayor. He has got 23,487 votes. Another contender for the post of deputy mayor Himla Gurung of RPP has received 14,144 votes.
