Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Yadav, had tabled the bills seeking their passage in the meeting. Earlier, participating in the deliberation on the bills, lawmakers Prem Suwal, Dibyamani Rajbhandari, Metmani Chaudhary and Bharat Kumar Shah suggested the government to ensure trade balance by the declining trade deficit.

They said the bills had to be brought early because Nepal had already been a member of the WTO. The import of goods needs to be strictly observed and the domestic industries should not be at an adverse end of the bills. In response, Minister Yadav stressed that the bills had focused on the protection and promotion of domestic industries. On the occasion, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Sashi Shrestha presented the Committee report on 'Nepal Police and State Police (Work Operation Supervision and Coordination) Bill, 2076.
