A seven-member team led by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Jayanarayan Acharya reached Humla on Saturday. CDO Acharya informed that the team includes seven persons including Joint Secretary Acharya, Deputy Director General of Survey Department Susheel Dangol and two experts nominated by the Department of Survey. Two senior officials from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) are also part of the team formed to determine if there is any breach of the international border.

The government team had reached Humla for the first time after the news that the building constructed by the Chinese side in Lolungjong of Namkha Rural Municipality-6 was on Nepali side of the border became public last year. There was a controversy that the Chinese side had built some structures in the Nepali area in Humla.

A cabinet meeting held on September 2 had formed a committee to conduct an on-site study on the issue of border encroachment in Namkha Rural Municipality-6 Limi and surrounding areas of Humla.
