Boxing team off to Russia

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Four members of Nepali boxing team including two players and officials on Sunday left for St Petersburg, Russia to take part in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships.

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Four members of Nepali boxing team including two players and officials on Sunday left for St Petersburg, Russia to take part in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships.  



Nepali boxers Santosh Rai and Pawan Bhattarai will vie in men's 52 kg and 60 kg events respectively in the championship to be held from November 17 to 26.



Boxing head coach Prakash Thapa Magar and coach Kiran Thapa have also accompanied the players.



Secretary at the Ministry for Youth and Sports Mahesh Prasad Dahal, Nepal Boxing Association's President Ram Awale and Vice-president Arjun KC among others bade farewell to the team at the ministry in Singha Durbar on Sunday.
